Nyki had a fairly normal life (although she herself was rather strange) until she was pushed into
a portal to another world. Understandably, this rather freaked her out, but so far she seems to be
handling it fairly well, possibly helped by the fact that she read absurd amounts of fantasy and daydreamed
about other worlds, in which magic was possible.
In the new world, Nyki met a strange person whom she named Zen. Zen helps her, and knows just enough
more than Nyki for Nyki to feel inclined to follow her like a lost puppy. A lost puppy who is unused to lots of walking
and enjoys complaining...
Nyki's moods are a tad unpredictable, and often change rapidly. She's a perfectionist, a control freak, and very
lazy. She doesn't like being confused, although she often is. Nyki is usually a nice person, and polite enough to at
least not embarrass herself, but she can also be a real bitch when she wants to be. She loves weapons, fire, wit, pretty
boys, intelligent conversation, silliness, sap, and yaoi.
Nyki likes this new world, but misses her home and would like to go back.

Zen was the first person that Nyki met in that "strange new world." Zen had lived in
the 26th Blackbird's tomb for the past 2,000 years, and thus knows nothing about the current
state of the world.
She can turn into any shape, but there are always two constants: she is black-haired
(and dark-skinned, when human) and lavender-eyed. Her favorite forms are human, cat, and horse.
She also technically doesn't have a gender, but prefers to be female.
Because of her long life and all the things she's seen in it, Zen is very hard to excite or
anger. She doesn't like being wrong or not knowing things. Zen doesn't care about human's lives unless
she likes or would find hard to replace an individual. To her, there are always more -- perhaps another
result of living for so long.

Chiron is, to the extent of Nyki's current knowledge, a talking rock. She's confused
by his existence and why he was in a pouch next to the weapons and choker in the 26th Blackbird's tomb,
but listens to him when he speaks. He seems to know what he's doing. Zen and Chiron appear to have known
each other for a while.
Chiron is commanding and may not have a sense of humor. However, he rarely speaks, so perhaps any
sense of humor is merely kept to himself.
Chiron speaks in one's mind, like Zen does when she's in non-human form. A rock doesn't have gender,
but his mind-voice sounds very male, so Nyki thinks of him as such.
