A short (haha) explanation of how and why this comic was created:
First I need to explain one of the ways in which my imagination works. See, whenever I read a book, see a movie, hear a story... etc, that I like, I
find a way to work myself into the story. Usually, I'll somehow appear in that universe soon after the end of the story, and end up interacting with all the characters, as well as
making up a few new ones of my own. That was how this began. This was a little different though, because I truly loved and felt at home in the universe described in the books.
This led to my returning to it over and over, writing and rewriting over and over, my stories for it. Finally, I hit upon one story beginning in that world that just seemed to fit
for me. Then, from this rough beginning, I would imagine scenes here and there, totally not in context, and then later connect them. This continued every time I was bored, or let my
mind wander. It continued, for several years. Then, in the beginning of High School, I was introduced to webcomics by friends. I quickly became obsessed with them, and also
realized that this was a way to let out my by now very complex story.
Finally, after several months, I was ready to start. But first, I realized, I needed to take my story out of
the universe it was originally in, since that universe was copyrighted by someone else... as were several of the characters. So I changed character names and personalities, the way
several things worked, and a lot of other stuff... and ended up with a story all my own. That story is Blackbird 27. Now, because this story was originally me putting myself into
another story, I actually am Nyki. I gave her another name because I wanted to be separate from me as well, but that doesn't change the fact that she has my personality, and I base
her moods and reactions off of what I expect mine would be. Oh! And because of how I am, how I think, and how I created the story, a lot of stuff will happen that you won't understand, or will seem completely random
to you. But have no fear... all things will be explained eventually. I've worked on the story so much and for so long that there is an explanation and history for just about
everything...
About the Person-Who-Slashes-Up-Perfectly-Good-Text
Her name is Alex, and her self-written description on Elftown is "current student, future modern bohemian adventurer."
Alex's reign over this comic beings with Chapter 1, so don't blame her for the prologue.
If you wish to complain about this butchering of my Perfectly Good Text, you may email Alex at pwoink@gmail.com.
